About Adria

I am a passionate runner, an experienced Physical Therapist, and am certified in Dry Needling. Since 2009, running has been an integral part of my life. While the marathon distance holds a special place in my heart, I do enjoy other distances as a welcomed change in training.

I was once an injured runner myself, experiencing spiraling negative thoughts, and believing I would never be the same runner. I was stuck physically, mentally, and emotionally, not only worried about never being able to run again but also struggling with a loss of identity.

Since working through that experience, I made it my mission to help every runner I can overcome feeling hopeless and get back to happy, healthy running

Through recognizing the gaps in care for runners, I decided to forge my own path and create a model that works.

Whichever option you choose, I am here to support you on your path to recovery and reaching your running goals. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further guidance.

What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a technique that can be helpful for so many things, from easing pain and reducing muscle tightness to aiding recovery after a race or hard workout. It involves inserting very thin, sterile needles into specific areas of the muscle. Despite the use of needles, it’s not the same as acupuncture. Dry needling is based on Western medicine principles and is used to treat musculoskeletal issues. Many people find it helps them move more freely and recover faster.

How Does Virtual Physical Therapy Work Without Hands-On Care?

You might wonder how virtual appointments can be effective when traditional rehab often involves hands-on care. Here’s how it works:

  • Focused Listening: In virtual sessions, I prioritize listening to you as you describe your symptoms, injuries, and goals. Your detailed input guides our assessment and treatment plan.
  • Observation and Visual Assessment: With virtual sessions, I sharpen my ability to observe and visually assess your body’s movements and mechanics. This heightened focus allows me to spot patterns and issues that might not be as apparent in person.
  • Clearer Picture: By combining your subjective reports with my visual observations, we create a comprehensive picture of your condition. This in-depth understanding enables us to tailor your treatment plan more precisely.
  • Empowerment: Virtual appointments provide a unique opportunity for me to teach you self-care techniques and exercises that you can perform at home. This empowerment equips you with the tools to take an active role in your rehabilitation.
  • Referrals When Needed: In cases where hands-on care is necessary, I can guide you to local hands-on care practitioners who can address those specific needs. We’ll continue to focus on other aspects of your rehabilitation to ensure holistic support.

In essence, virtual appointments enhance my ability to listen, observe, and guide you, even when hands-on care isn’t possible. It’s a dynamic approach that leverages technology to provide comprehensive support for your recovery and performance goals.

Do I take Insurance?

I am out-of-network with all insurance providers, which allows me to offer more personalized, one-on-one care without the limitations often set by insurance companies.

However, I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may be able to submit for reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

I do accept HSA and FSA.

    Rehab Resources

“With her knowledge and expertise, she got me successfully back to running and my achilles healed!”

The program equipped me with the knowledge & tools I needed to heal injury, build strength, maintain fitness and even get back to racing! But more than that I am now equipped to move forward with a good training regiment that incorporates both strength and cardio. One that can both prevent future injuries, and make me faster.

The program was very focused on what my individual needs were for me to be successful in training. Adria helped address all aspects of training including not just running sessions, but strength sessions, recovery, speed, and overall health. She is very thorough, and answers all questions in detail in a way that you can understand and apply.

I highly recommend this program 10/10 for any runner who needs to rehab injury, and/or any runner who just wants to become a faster/stronger/smarter runner who will get fitter & prevent injuries!” – Anonymous Client
